Summer Music Camp 2020

Music Creativity Camp is a fun, intense, one-week day-camp for children ages 7-14. Campers of all skill levels will learn music composition, audio recording techniques, vocals, guitar, keyboard, form a band, write a song and perform at the end of the week for friends and family. Join us for 5 days of learning, creating and playing music, teamwork, making friends and pulling it all together for a surprising performance experience!

Session 1: June 22-26th 2020 (students entering 2nd- 6th grades). Focus -- World Music.

Immerse into a multicultural journey from Polynesia (New Zealand, Australia, and Hawaii) to China, Middle East, Mexico and Russia, Belarus and Ukraine!  Learn the songs, play authentic instruments, create a puppet theater play, make authentic arts and crafts and even taste some authentic food!!! At the end of the session,  invite your parents and friends for a concert of multicultural songs, dances and puppet shows!

Session 2: July 20-24th (students entering 3rd- 7th grades). Focus: Musical Theater. Join this session to create an original Musical!  Students will learn songwriting, fundamentals of musical theater vocal production, acting, choreography, and production.  At the end of camp, all students will perform at the musical that they have written.

Session 3: July 27th-31st (students entering 4th-8th grades) For students with previous music background and/or strong interest in contemporary music, composition, production, and recording.  Focus: Composing, Arranging and Producing music.  Vocalists and musicians will create their own original songs, and will be introduced to the professional workflow of music production— from song conception and developing their individual artistic sound, to writing their own lyrics and music, to music video production—and everything in between! All styles/genres of music are welcome! All students will perform an original song that they have written at the end of camp during our Final Showcase.

Camp hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday

 Meals:

The camp offers healthy snacks and drinks. Lunches should be brought from home. We can heat food if necessary.
